| Carnival in Spring, theater during
the summer, mass tourism until fall. It is quit only during
the winter. But then almost no hotel or shop is open.
Whoever seeks peaceful recreation has to look someplace
else. The town is pure Mediterranean life.
Budva is one of the oldest settlements on the Adriatic.
The history dates back more than 2600 years. The foundations
were laid by Beotije Kadmo, son of the Phoenician King
Agenor and the Queen Telofosa. During the earthquake
in 1979 the town was completely destroyed but nothing
reminds anymore of the catastrophe. Almost all buildings
were reconstructed in the original way.
